More on Hell's Glen
My intention is to pay a visit to Hell's Glen and try and obtain a photograph from the same place to see how it has changed over the last seventy years. A recent photograph is available on the web at http://clyde-valley.com/glasgow/hellglen.htm, which looks as if it has been taken lower down the road. The forestry commission has clearly been busy as a large number of young conifers are now present.
In addition, two readers of the site have sent me recent pictures of the glen. One of these is shown compared with the 1926 photograph. The road is still single track, but the bridge has been replaced by a new structure. The large amount of vegetation present compared to the 1926 photograph suggests that the Forestry Commission are keeping the sheep out. For a description and origin of Moses Well, then look up http://www.cowal-dunoon.com/Lochgoilhead.htm
